THE ROLE WE NEED

5 Stones is seeking a senior account manager to accompany our clients by crafting strategies and spearheading execution that unlocks growth and impact. A senior account manager is the chief advisor to and primary liaison between top-tier clients with big problems to solve and our passionate team of creative problem-solvers. 

Because we are a small and agile team, this role requires creative adaptability and comfort in the not-perfectly-clear. While we can’t script what each day holds, we are certain this team member will be asked to…

• Own client relationships and operate as a trusted advisor to deepen trust by demonstrating results and proposing fresh ideas
• Collaboratively lead strategy development, translating client goals into measurable marketing plans by leaning on the gifts and perspectives of colleagues
• Galvanize multi-disciplinary teams toward the client’s objectives
• Work closely with project managers to ship excellent work within budgets and timelines
• Identify growth opportunities for clients and cross-promote other 5 Stones services
• Manage client-facing and internal communications with clarity and charisma

THE PERSON WE NEED

The right candidate for the senior account manager position will be…

• A confident and enthusiastic communicator and natural relationship builder
• A strategic thinker with a desire to collaborate and a passion for results
• Highly interested in distributing credit to the team rather than amassing accolades and admiration for oneself
• Naturally curious and unafraid to take a calculated risk on a new idea
• Comfortable with making the difficult phone call or having a tough conversation
• Capable of context-shifting to think deeply about client problems across various industries
• Able to translate public speaking and presentation skills to smaller rooms where connection is more important than expertise
• Humble and aware of their deep goodness and dignity as a beloved child of God

And the right candidate will have…

• 10+ years of experience in marketing, strategy, branding, or leadership, and preferably a cross-section of multiple disciplines, OR 5+ years in client services/account management in an agency setting
• A proven ability to manage complex campaigns and client portfolios
• An ability to manage budgets, timelines, and reporting with precision
• Exceptional EQ and off-the-charts levels of empathy
• A list of references that can’t wait to tell us about the impact they’ve had on other organizations
• Strong coaching skills to help cultivate young talent
• An unwavering steadiness and peacefulness rooted in the Catholic identity

LOCATION

We believe that the culture and community of 5 Stones are critically important to our mission of serving clients and helping our employees thrive in every aspect of their lives. For this reason, we strongly prefer this team member to be located onsite in Sycamore, Illinois (60 miles west of Chicago).
